Snow & Ice Removal

  • Our season begins months before the mercury dips below 32 degrees, as we understand that proper site planning is key to a keeping a site clear, safe, and fully operational throughout the worst of Winter Weather. Visiting and walking each location prior to the season gives us a full understanding of the specific needs of each site, such as stacking areas, priority areas, and areas of special attention, and we utilize this data to create a Site Action Plan.

    Our Crew Leaders and operators are educated to the specifications of their assigned site prior to the season with the Site Action Plan to ensure smooth operations throughout the winter season. Maintaining a clear and safe site often requires a combination of equipment ranging from pickup trucks outfitted with plows and salt boxes to full size loaders with pusher boxes depending on the property. The proper preparation ensures that the right equipment and crew is there to keep your site clear, safe and fully operational.

  • Sidewalk clearing is a crucial aspect of any snow program and we ensure that a client’s customers have safe and clear passage ways to access their properties. This not only greatly reduces risk of slip-and-fall accidents, but allows for smooth store operations as well. Keeping clear loading areas, dumpster corrals, and other areas of special attention make sure to keep store operations running smoothly. Depending on specifications and property size we choose the most efficient pieces of equipment to keep the walks clear and safe, as well as apply highly effective de-icing materials that are non-corrosive and eco-friendly.

  • When large storms hit, many properties may need to stack snow on site, and/or haul snow of the premises to maintain safe conditions and adequate parking. Using certified climatologists to track large events, we often recommend snow staging areas and hauling if necessary, and depending on client specifications, we can haul snow prior to, during, or following large events.

  • Depending on weather patterns and specifications de-icing applications can be used as a preemptive measure as well as when an accumulation of snow and ice begin to form. We keep our clients safe while saving them money, by using the most effective products for their property, including:

  • After we create a Site Action Plan, we always document the site’s current condition with photos shared with our customer to ensure clear communication. Harsh Winter weather can take its toll on properties, and unlike some of our competitors we take it upon ourselves to fix any damages to turf, lot, and curbing. Upon the close of the Winter Season we inspect and document every site to ensure that any damages caused during the season are rectified and that the client has proper and accurate documentation.

Storm Water Management  

NEWinds is prepared to efficiently develop standalone sewer, stormwater and water-distribution projects, or as part of a larger project. In addition to creating water management and distribution systems, we also are capable of installing utilities, erosion control and retaining walls, asphalt paving, any necessary site excavation and concrete installation.

  • • Survey a project’s territory and existing infrastructure
    • Consult or coordinate with any additional engineering firms involved
    • Aid in providing any necessary assistance for water plan submissions in the Northeastern United States
    • Construct and/or review and approve water system plans
    • Provide estimates for water system costs
    • Create agreements needed for said water system and assist with expected permits
    • Inspect finished water system to ensure those will pass all regulations and standards required

  • Modern stormwater management systems are designed to effectively curtail excess rainwater and direct it toward fields and streams. Stormwater management systems in Northeastern U.S. typically are designed in four styles.

  • Retention basins store rainfall for approximately 3 days, allowing water to seep through the soil, into a groundwater aquifer. Basins can be designed to work within a natural flat depression, but also can be man-made. These are perfect when a business or community wants the storm water contained.

  • Swales are a natural or man-made indent in the ground, shaped to allow quick water absorption into the soil. Unlike retention basins, these do allow water to flow into natural water bodies. Storm water swales are an ideal addition to the sides of roads and parking lots.

  • These excavated basins in the Northeast are often set adjacent to natural bodies of water to prevent flooding. These are capable of potentially holding a great deal of run-off but eventually will dry out over time.

  • Wet detention stormwater systems are very popular since these double as ponds. With wet detention, materials can settle and be absorbed, while excess storm water is controlled with an out-flow structure.

Concrete & Masonry

  • Concrete, as an inflexible material, has a greater capacity to bear loads as well as providing a smooth, rigid edge.  For this reason, concrete is the material of choice for most dumpster pads, loading docks, and walkways.  In addition to the installation of new walks and pads, we also offer a full menu of concrete repair and replacement scopes to fit any situation.

  • Entry to your building or facility depends greatly on the access from your parking lot.  Concrete ramps must be built to code (ADA and other requirements) as well as neatly match with the existing walkway and asphalt surface. We also offer ramp services such as installation of indicator panels and paint markings.

  • Curbing is used to differentiate parking areas from roadways, sidewalks, landscaping, and to control the flow of water from the parking area to the storm drain system.

    Our crews are well-trained to handle any size curbing installation or curbing removal and replacement project.

  • Beyond the traditional concrete scopes, we offer installation of concrete structures (such as bollards and car stops) to retaining walls and decks.  Our in-house crews are ready for any project – large or small.
